Best Botox Treatments Stonington CT

best botox treatment stonington ct imageBotox has been used to decrease angry-looking frown lines, creased wrinkles around the eyes, layered lines on the forehead, and those linear ridges cursing your upper lip for more than a decade. I have been using Botox to smooth out these angry or old looking wrinkles on my patients for more than a decade-since Botox was FDA approved in 2002! And I can tell you, experience counts when giving a patient the best Botox results. I use other types of Botox as well: such as Dysport.

It is not so much which product is used (there are currently four types of Botox FDA approved to reduce muscular-induced wrinkles) or even how much product is used (though that is important as I'll discuss)--but how it is injected--who is the injector. I have injected thousands of people's faces, to reduce their wrinkles, using Botox Cosmetic and Dysport.

Chemical Peels

chemical peel imageThe term "chemical peel" conjures up visions of stinging, burning, injured raw skin covered in mummy gauze dressings for weeks and weeks. But skin healing and being transformed, becoming more youthful, smoother -- taking away those wrinkles or acne scars or enlarged pores or other skin spots you may not like.

Many patients come into my office saying: "I need a chemical peel"--and then they rub or wipe their cheeks almost envisioning the layers of sun damaged or time-worn skin cells sloughing off and rejuvenated skin waiting just below to come forth.

As the fall and winter are when we do most of our chemical and laser peel procedures AND we are very excited about our new chemical peel blends this fall, let's get down to the chemical peel basics. Read on to learn how to select the best chemical peel for your skin type and issues.

New Technology for Skin Tightening

tissue tightening treatment photoAre you looking at sagging skin on the face and neck area? Or the legs! Your belly? Your arms!

Being humans, the collagen in our skin is destined to become looser, more lax, less tight and firm. Plus we live on a planet with a strong gravitational force. Combined looser collagen fibers with decades of gravity pulling down on our bodies, you have areas which are less tight and firm than we might like.

The technology and science behind skin tightening devices have much improved over the past five years. The VShape is one of the newest treatments to tighten and firm face, neck, legs, abdomen, and arms. Learn if this treatment can help your issue.

My Coolsculpting Experience--as told by a nurse. Part II

coolsculpting handpiece photoIn Part I of my Coolsculpting treatment experience blog, I described how the treatment worked and how it felt during and right afterwards. In the office, we usually see patients back in three months, as that is the amount of time it takes to evaluate your results from the treatment. So I decided to write my Coolsculpting follow-up blog at around the three month mark. Did it hurt after the initial treatment? Did it work for me? What did I think of the results? Would I do it again?

What is Skin Resurfacing?

fractional laser resurfacing photoSkin resurfacing is a general term which refers to a process or procedure intended to improve the texture of the skin. Make your skin look smoother. Improve specific "textural issues" such as wrinkles, acne scars, fine lines, prominent pores, and forms of sun damage and skin aging. A skin resurfacing procedure makes your skin look smoother, more radiant, and more youthful.

There are many different devices used for skin resurfacing.

There are different intensities of skin resurfacing: mild/no downtime, moderate/little bit of downtime, aggressive/more downtime.

Each procedure really has a different goal, designed to best improve a specific combination of skin issues. One procedure may give better results for pores and brown spots. Another device may give better results for redness and acne scars. Yet another may be focused on deeper wrinkles and blotchy brown areas.

Learn what type of skin resurfacing can best help improve your particular skin issues.
