Is this your skin issue?

In spite of watching your diet and exercising, you can’t decrease those discrete bulges in the stomach, spare tire, muffin top, and love handle areas. Your favorite clothes don’t fit. Your belt slip a notch in the wrong direction. Those bulges hang over your pant waist line.

No matter what you do, you cannot lose those extra squeezable, pinchable areas of fat around your waistline. Surgery, such as liposuction, is not a top choice for you, as it involves too many needles, anesthesia, risks, and downtime.

You are looking for an easier no surgery, outpatient, no downtime procedure that can reduce those stubborn bulges.

Or that "double chin"--technically called "sub-mental fullness" or fullness under the chin --- is just not going away. Approved in 2015, the CoolSculpting technique can now be applied to the bulge under the chin. No needles. No anesthesia needed. No downtime. And no surgical cutting, sutures, or scars.

Remember, CoolSculpting reduces fat cells. CoolSculpting does not tighten up sagging skin--a different common neck issue. CoolSculpting can be combined with other non-surgical skin tightening treatments in a way which then can address both the excess fat and the sagging skin. Everyone is different, and therefore requires different treatments, or combinations of treatments.

The Science: Non-invasive Safely Selectively Freezing Fat

How Does CoolSculpting WorkCoolSculpting is a non-invasive, FDA cleared, clinically proven procedure to selectively reduce fat layers in problem areas using a cooling technology. In 2008, research proved that subcutaneous fat cells are naturally more vulnerable to the effects of cold than other surrounding tissue.

Harvard studies confirmed that fat cells, when exposed to precisely controlled cooling for a sustained period of time, undergo a gradual reduction and cell death through a process called “induced apoptosis”.

Rather than the fat cells being instantly destroyed, the precise controlled temperature cooling causes the fat cells to slowly disintegrate; the cell debris and fragments are gently removed by the natural clearing of cells by the body.

This process, used by the CoolSculpting device, is called “cryolipolysis”. Therefore, the gradual results which occur over 3 months dictate the high level of gentleness and safety of the procedure. CoolSculpting is safe because the delivery of precise cooling affects only targeted fat cells, leaving adjacent skin and tissue unharmed and intact.

The Solution: CoolSculpting -An Alternative to Liposuction

During the CoolSculpting procedure, a non-invasive external-only applicator delivers precisely controlled cooling to the treatment area to specifically target underlying fat, leaving surface skin tissue unaffected. When fat cells are exposed to extreme cold, a process of natural removal is triggered, which gradually reduces the thickness of the fat layer. The result is a visible reduction in fat bulges.

How the Coolsculpting Treatment Works

The treatment takes places in the office. You sit or lie down in a comfortable chair, and the hand-piece is applied to the treatment site or sites. When the applicator is applied, you feel pressure and then intense cold. Some patients have more than one site treated during a session, so the length of the visit varies from one hour to multiple hours.

Every person and every site requires an individualized treatment plan-different combinations of applicators sizes and shapes and different to gently sculpt an area. During the treatment, patients read, use their computers or phones, or take a nap. After the treatment, the site is mildly red and feels tingly, but most patients return immediately to their regular daily activity schedule. Some patients experience mild redness, burning, pain, discomfort, itching, cramping, or bloating at the site. No driver or time off from work, or delaying your next exercise workout, is needed.

Coolsculpting Results

On average, one CoolSculpting session results in a 20-30% reduction of fat in the treated areas, and patients can start to see results as soon as three weeks following treatment, with the most dramatic results occurring over a period of two to four months. Depending on your body’s response to the treatment over time, and the amount of fat present in the treatment site, you may opt to have repeat treatment sessions on the same site, thus improving results beyond the 20-30%.

Most patients who are within 10% of their ideal body weight are pleased with their results after one session. Patients with more tissue will require more treatment sessions. During a cosmetic consultation for Coolsculpting, the nurse and the doctor determine your treatment plan-designing a specific combination of treatment applicators to can give you your best results.
